What’s going on in Vista City, Vista Land’s 1,500-hectare master planned community south of Metro Manila? We’ve rounded up what we know so far and we’re excited by what we’re seeing!

1. Tech start-ups will be given a leg up.

Budding tech entrepreneurs from the south of Metro Manila and beyond will get the knowledge and training support they need as Vista City will soon be home to a UP Technology Innovation Campus.

In a statement, UP has said that the campus is “intended to facilitate collaboration and develop partnerships with industries and business enterprises within CALABARZON for the promotion of education, training, and research in innovation.”

“[It] is envisioned to become the birthplace of local tech start-ups that will ensure that the Philippines will remain competitive in today’s global economy,” said Vista Land Chairman Manuel Villar Jr.

The 5-hectare university will be located within Vista City’s University Town, which will eventually include other prestigious schools in its roster.

2. Technology, innovation, and employment are priority areas.

Nurturing technology and innovation while providing employment opportunities are among Vista City’s key objectives and in line with this is Vista Hub, envisioned to become one of the most advanced business and IT parks in the country. Work is ongoing for phase one, which will cover 10 hectares. Operations start by the second half of 2016.

3. There’s a new lifestyle address.

Muntinlupa, Cavite, Las Pinas, and Laguna residents have a new place to shop, dine, and relax in: Evia Lifestyle Center along Daang Hari.

Aside from having a wide selection of retail shops and restaurants, Evia Lifestyle Center boasts of having the only MX4D Motion EFX theater in the city. With this latest 4D cinema technology, theater seats move in-sync with the action on-screen. Special EFX generators make viewers feel every bump, shake, and tilt, while timed wind and mist atomizers add to a more immersive movie watching experience.

4. Getting there and away will be faster and easier.

The Toll Regulatory Board and the Department of Public Works and Highways have given the go signal for the the C-5 South Link Expressway project. This will eventually connect with the R-1 Expressway (Coastal Road) and Cavitex Road network, which will make it easier to get to Vista City and other neighboring areas from places up north.
