The famous chanteuse Billie Holiday once sang,

Summer time/and the living is easy.

Given it’s the height of summer, it would be great if we could find the place–and the time off from work–for such a description.

If city life and your work has made you consider the idea of resort living in an urban setting—the most prominent example being the celebrity icon Paris Hilton-endorsed Azure Urban Resort Residences–you can’t blame yourself for being tempted. After all, it’s the best of both worlds: your residence as a vacation spot after coming home from the office.

However, have you ever considered the reverse: urban living in a resort setting? Imagine a place where you can enjoy nature and dusting off beach sand from your feet– but with all the comforts of your own home. In other words, why leave the city to go to the beach when you can bring the city with you?

You’re probably thinking you have to be rich to buy an island, or else settle for a property in a crowded beachfront in order to realize this dream. Fortunately, there are now resort residences located throughout the Philippines that offer the same experience but without the hefty price tag.

Combining the best of both worlds (resort living with a property that you can own), resort residences can be defined as wholly owned private properties located within a full-service resort. With that in mind, we went looking around for resort residences that are either in operation or are being developed, to find what’s currently available out there.

We intentionally didn’t include those urban resort residences (like Azure) because the idea here is that resort residences offer urban living in a resort setting, not keep you in an urban setting. So if it gets you out of the city and somewhere near the beach, it fits our criteria.

With that said, here’s our top 9 luxurious residential resorts in the Philippines:
