Taguig – The Sun Rises in the East

Conveniently located near major transportation hubs, Taguig was a sleepy fishing and farming suburb in eastern Metro Manila until Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and the Circumferential Road-5 (C5) were completed. Now, the city is home to a booming commercial and business district that houses many of the country's top companies. It is also home to a growing community of executives, and expatriates who are attracted to the numerous international schools that dot the area, such as International School Manila, the British School, and Enderun Colleges.

Running with Military Precision

Taguig City hosts a large base of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and thus, one can see signs of its martial legacy everywhere he or she goes. The 240-hectare Bonifacio Global City, for example, is built on what used to be part of the main camp of the Philippine Army, and everything – from the timing of the stoplights to the regular routes of the Fort Bus – is done on the dot.

Underneath this façade, however, is one of the country's premier creative hubs. Bonifacio High Street, the city's largest open-air promenades, is host to large art installations. Colorful murals are all over the walls of some of the city's largest buildings, and BGC hosts yearly art festivals and classes for those interested in nurturing their inner artist. It is no wonder that some of the top advertising agencies in the country have chosen Taguig as their home, too.

While part of Taguig is located beside Laguna de Bay, a large portion of the city rises at least fifty feet above sea level, most of it resting on solid rock. This makes Taguig a safe and secure spot for building and a house for keeps.

Renting a House in Taguig

Taguig is known for its wide, open spaces, and the houses that stand there make great places where one's children may play. Its proximity to major roads and business centers also make it an ideal destination for up-and-coming business executives. With rates ranging from P55,000 to P250,000 a month, it's best to take advantage of the relatively reasonable houses for rent now.
