**ZipMatch’s #HowIGotMyHome is an ongoing series that features the stories, experiences, and lessons learned of Filipinos who have successfully bought homes in the Philippines.

All Filipinos eventually want to own a home someday, but the road to get to that point may be unclear: What do you have to do to save up for a home? How many years will it take for you to get there?

With these uncertainties in mind, we interviewed Carla Manantan about how she bought her studio home in Fort Bonifacio. She taught in Korea as an OFW and she now works as a real estate agent herself, empowering other Filipinos to buy homes of their own.

A home to call her own

Carla takes pride in the condominium she bought with her own savings after her stint abroad. For her, it is a culmination of a dream that someday she too can own her own home. Although she had her fair shares of sacrifices including being away from her family, she’s happy that she’s now seeing the fruits of her labor.
