Muntinlupa City: A City for Families

Muntinlupa City is known for its wide and secure subdivisions and its location at the crossroads of Metro Manila and Southern Luzon. Many wealthy families have chosen to build houses in Muntinlupa because of its relative isolation from the rest of the big city and its relaxed lifestyle. It is also home to schools that offer some of the best education available in the country. All in all, Muntinlupa City is one of the best places for raising a family.

Upscale and Educational

Formerly a sleepy fishing town centered on Laguna de Bay, Muntinlupa City's westward expansion began in the late 1970s, when the Ayala Corporation developed what is now known as Ayala Alabang Village. Formerly dismissed as part of the hinterlands, families soon realized that the Alabang area offered a refreshing departure from the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila's busy commercial districts.

Soon, some of the country's wealthiest families started building houses in the middle of Alabang's expansive lots. The demand for education rose sharply, and in quick succession, large religious orders established school campuses in Muntinlupa. These included De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, San Beda College-Alabang, Southridge School, and Woodrose School. Collectively, these four schools serve a large proportion of Muntinlupa's affluent population, also attracting the best and the brightest from nearby cities in Laguna and Cavite Provinces. Muntinlupa City also hosts Asian Hospital, one of the country's leading medical centers.

Muntinlupa is also known for its upscale shopping centers, such as Alabang Town Center and Filinvest Corporate Cit. And, with BPO companies setting up sites in the area, Muntinlupa City has also become home to a new breed of forward-looking, tech-savvy individuals who are set to change the world, one phone call at a time.

Renting a House in Muntinlupa City

Many families aspire to live in one of Muntinlupa's many exclusive subdivisions, such as Ayala Alabang, Alabang Heights, and Hillsborough Subdivision, because of their excellent infrastructure and access to some of the best education available. Houses for rent in Muntinlupa City tend to be larger than average, and can go for P50,000 to P350,000 a month.
